WHO OWNS RICHER SOUNDS?

Richer Sounds is an unlisted PLC, 100% owned by Julian Richer, its founder.

WHO OWNS RICHER SOUNDS IRELAND?

Richer Sounds Ireland is a franchise of Richer Sounds PLC  and is the only franchise of Richer Sounds and opened in December 1995.

We operate on the exactly the same basis as Richer Sounds PLC – we offer our Customers great products at the best prices and we strive to offer our Customers excellent service every day. Richer Sounds Ireland is locally owned and it is managed by John McDonald, our Managing Director, and you can contact him directly at johnmc@richersounds.ie

WHAT DO WE DO?

We sell TV, hi-fi, home cinema and multi room products and can offer an installation service, if required. We believe in offering value for money in conjunction with delivering good customer service both in our shop in Belfast and through our mailorder facility on www.richersounds.ie or via our presence on the customer forum, ‘Boards.ie’

HOW LONG HAVE WE BEEN AROUND?

Julian opened his first shop at London Bridge in 1978, at the age of 19, and has expanded the branch network and the scope of the business year after year, and was an early champion of good Customer Service – Richer Sounds received the Which? Best High Street Retailer Award in 2011 for delivering outstanding products, exceptional value and, a great customer experience. Richer Sounds now trades from 51 stores in 40 towns/cities.

WHY ARE SOME PRICES NO BETTER THAN THE COMPETITION?

We endeavour to be as vigilant and reactive as possible, when it comes to monitoring the competition's prices. If you phone around/search online and the hardware does exist at any competitor's store/or on the website*, call us last and we'll cheerfully beat any lower price by up to £100 or €150 any time up to 7 days after purchase! (All we ask is that the hardware you're interested in is brand new and in stock at any authorised dealer) *Accredited/ in stock/ delivery charge added

WHY ARE SOME PRICES DIFFERENT?

Some prices are liable to fluctuate due to our commitment to always offer our customers the best value for money. If however you wish to purchase offers seen online in your local store, please take along a print out of the product(s) you are interested in.

WHY ARE OFFERS SOMETIMES 'In Store Only’ or ‘Last Few to Clear’?

Due to the high demand for our products and the fact that some of our deals are finite in supply, a few of our lines have limited availability. As a result products showing as 'exclusive to In-store callers only' will be available in your local branch when they are sold out on the web, as we always try and give those customers who have gone out of their way to make a special journey to one of our stores stock priority. Due to variations in store sizes and our massive sales if you experience any problems getting hold of a particular item at your local branch, please call our Local Stock Enquiry Line on: 04890 330044 (from ROI) 02890 330044 (from NI) or email sales@richersounds.ie

DO WE SELL SECONDS?

We quite frequently hear of our competitors (who are naturally frustrated at our prices) telling customers that the only reason we are so cheap is that all our goods are either seconds, returns, stolen, counterfeit, second-hand etc... This is, of course, utter nonsense and simply sour grapes on their part! If it were true it would be both illegal and hardly good customer relations - something we assure you we take very seriously. All our stock is brand new in sealed cartons unless clearly stated otherwise i.e Last Few So Hurry!/Graded = Stocks limited/not available in all stores. Some may be ex-display or ex-repair at this (ex-display stock carries a 12 month warranty, ex-repair goods have a 3 month guarantee). All prices include VAT at the prevailing rate.

WHAT HAPPENS IF PRODUCTS GO WRONG?

Simply return your purchase to your nearest branch or if bought on the web, contact the aftersales department at sales@richersounds.ie for collection, (collection and redelivery charges may apply.) If the item is less than a month old we'll give you a full refund or exchange it (whichever you prefer). If it's been longer than this (but less than a year) we'll repair it for you completely free of charge. *

*Excludes styli, abuse, excessive wear 'n' tear eg. commercial use. Screen burn caused by channel logos or other static images, dead pixels of an amount not covered by the manufacturer's specifications. (Statutory rights not affected.)

3^Bi-wired^A speaker with seperate terminals to connect it's woofer and tweeter to the amplifier.^|43^Analogue^A signal that is as exact replica of the original sounds waveform. An example of an analogue device is a cassette deck.^|44^Impedance^The resistance, measured in Ohms, offered to AC (alternating current) signals by a component. In loudspeaker specifications 8 Ohms is the norm, 6 Ohms is becoming more popular, but be careful with low-impedance 4 Ohm speakers because not all power amplifiers are happy driving them.^|45^RDS^Radio Data System - This is fitted to some tuners and car radios (where it's genuinely useful ) and supplies some additional information and controls signals to the tuner^|46^Sensitivity^When quoted in loudspeaker specifications, this tells you how easy a job the amplifier have driving the speaker. Measured in dB (decibels), 88dB is average, 84dB is low (so get a big amp!), and 90dB or above is very high (so a little amp will do).^|47^Tweeter^A loudspeaker's high frequency drive unit. Produces most of the treble.^|48^Watts^Used to specify amplifier or loudspeaker power handling.^|49^Woofer^A loudspeaker's low frequency drive unit.^|50^Amplifier^Hi-fi component (or any electrical circuit) that boosts signals. An amplifier is required to connect a cd player to speakers...and so on.^|51^Multiregion^This term means that the unit is capable of playing discs from anywhere in the world. The world is split into 6 regions. DVD players and discs sold within Europe are region 2. America is region 1 and so on.^|52^Multi-region^This term means that the unit is capable of playing discs from anywhere in the world. The world is split into 6 regions. When connected to a multi-channel-equipped PC, you are able to enjoy high resolution stereo or 5.1-channel surround audio at 128 k - 768 Kbps compression rates. At any given bit rate, 5-channel WMA9 Pro will bring you higher fidelity than other sound compression algorithms thanks to the latest audio codec technology.^|93^WMA 9 Pro^The first digital surround sound coding technology for the Web, developed by Microsoft.
