1" (25MM) Anodized Aluminum Tweeter with Next Gen HDI Waveguide
JBL have a long history of intensive research including previous waveguide designs - leading to the latest complex geometry that improves directivity, reduces diffraction and produces an overall natural frequency response both on and off-axis. This stage 2 HDI Horn design is coupled to an anodized aluminum dome tweeter to improve efficiency and dynamics.
Precision 2.5 way Crossover and 5 Way Binding Posts
The 280F Floorstanders feature a unique two and a half-way crossover design. This design enables the top Woofer to cross overright below the Tweeters output, while the other Woofer is crossed over at a lower frequency - This creates a dynamic mid range, but both Woofers still extend as deep as they can go for powerful bass. This produces a cohesive smooth and balanced output with a robust low-end that can be both heard, and felt! The build quality exends to the rear of the Stage 280F with sturdy 5-way binding posts to provide you with your choice of high quality connection - the binding posts match the posts on the JBL MA range of AV recievers - carring the cohesive look, feel and sound throughout.
