Featuring a robust, three-stage inverted Darlington output, the Icon A-50’s Class A/B amplifier has ample power for all types of speakers. With 140 watts per channel (at 8 ohms), there’s power to drive even the least efficient speakers to room-filling levels. The symmetrical design ensures perfect balance between left and right channels, creating an immersive soundstage.

Precision sound
Ensuring high-precision sound, the Icon A-50 uses Onkyo’s DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry). This reduces distortion at the top end of the music scale, giving you a smoother and purer response. The premium quality AK4452 DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor), ensures the most accurate digital processing possible, right up to 32 bit/768kHz Hi-res audio files.

Dirac Live
Thanks to state-of-the-art digital room correction from Dirac, the Icon A-50 offers pro-level room optimisation. Dirac Live offers upgradable levels of room tuning and analysis for the ideal sound in your space. By addressing timing, frequency, and phase issues, Dirac Live creates a sound experience that feels natural and immersive. A basic system is included, with more advanced, Full Bandwidth and Bass Control options available at additional cost.

All your favourite streaming music services
For the best in streaming music, the Icon A-50 is compatible with a wide range of services. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music and QQ Music are all available. For Internet radio there’s also TuneIn.

Stream it your way – AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and more
No matter how you choose to stream music, the Icon A-50 is ready to serve. Built-in wi-fi ensures easy streaming via Apple (AirPlay 2) and Android/Google (Chromecast) devices. This premium Onkyo amp is also compatible with Roon, making it easy to integrate into a Hi-Res multiroom system. For quick and easy wireless playback, there’s also Bluetooth connectivity.

Connect everything from your TV to turntable
A wide array of connectivity makes it easy to plug in your entire AV system. For your TV, there’s an HDMI ARC socket, with other digital inputs available for sources such as a games console, set-top TV box and CD transport. Separate MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) phono pre-amps, means that you can connect all types of turntables, without needing additional boxes.

Timeless style
With all the streaming features handled by Onkyo’s Controller app, the Icon A-50 retains a smooth, minimalist style. Simple volume and source selector inputs make it easy to use and timeless in appearance.
