Slim yet powerful-sounding, the Monitor Audio Bronze 5 is the room-friendly floorstanding speaker.

The best Bronze so far

It's fair to say that the previous, multi-award-winning, ranges of Monitor Audio Bronze speakers have usually topped their class. Thanks to new drive units and the same attention to cabinet and crossover design, the latest Bronze range is the best yet. Take a listen and we're sure you'll agree.

Sound quality
The latest Bronze range comes with new C-CAM gold dome tweeters. These give the ideal balance between detail and smoothness. Upper frequencies stay clear and uncongested - even at high volume levels where inferior designs begin to distort. Although the Bronze 5 is pretty stealthy for a floorstanding speaker, this doesn't stop it from punching hard. Twin C-CAM woofer units optimise the mid-range and bass, giving both a more life-like mid-range and a deeper bass. Front and rear cabinet porting helps boost the low frequency response while also improving efficiency. With a sensitivity of 90dB your matching amplifier needn't be as powerful as you might think - a good quality 30 watts per channel should be ample to make these speakers sing.

The ideal speaker for
The Bronze 5 is ideal for full-range sound in medium-sized rooms. Because they are both forgiving yet response, they'll partner you through many upgrades to the rest of your hi-fi before they need upgrading themselves. They also offer bi-wirable connections, making them the perfect match for higher-end hi-fi systems and AV receivers that offer the option of bi-amping.

Stylish design, available in a choice of finishes
Using high quality MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) cabinets with extensive bracing, the Bronzes are not just solidly built, they offer very low cabinet colouration for low distortion, too. The beauty within is wrapped in a choice of premium quality vinyl veneers. Choose between black, white or walnut for the best match with your decor.

Powerful-sounding but still domestic friendly, the Monitor Audio Bronze 5 remain amongst the best compact floorstanders in their class.

Speaker Enclosure TypeType of speaker enclosure. Infinite baffle cabinets are sealed and so are often less fussy about placement. Usually they do require a little more power to drive, though. Bass reflex speakers are usually more efficient than infinite baffle designs but may require more care in terms of placement. Rear port designs, in particular, usually need at least 15-30cm (6 - 12 inches) between them and the wall behind, for a balanced bass response. Rated 5 out of 5?by Quality loudspeakers and a clear upgrade from previous stand mounts. The Monitor Audio Bronze 5 are great sounding speakers on a compact footprint and gorgeous design. I'm still running mine in but can already appreciate greater clarity and a fuller sound stage when compared to my MA BX2 on solid stands. In a nutshell, I'm well happy with my purchase and the guys at Richer Sounds Romford took care of me as they always do. Yamaha AS500/Yamaha CDN301/Pioneer PL55X TT/MA Bronze 5 29 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5?by Fantastic product and outstanding customer service Having already purchased both the Cambridge audio Cxa60 and the cxc I didn't have any worries about getting these fantastic speakers there not even close to being run in but straight out of the box sound amazing Jimmy pages guitar solo on stair way to heaven sounds live in my living room purchased from Kingston and as always the customer service was fantastic take my advice peeps don't even bother with hollyoaks go straight to richer but seriously would like to say special thanks to Carl Chris and Ryan who answered all my annoying questions 21 April 2016
Rated 1 out of 5?by High hopes - Didn't live up to expectations I had high hopes for these floorstanders, having owned (still own) other Monitor Audio speakers. I tested them for a day at home and was massively disappointed. Very poor bass and worst of all the mid range seemed biased towards the tweeter.. This meant the tiny tweeter driver was doing most of the work! Richer Sounds advised they would get better after being run in for a couple of weeks. That's true, you should run speakers in.... However these floorstanders were so far off decent/acceptable sound performance, no amount of running in would solve the issue. Returned the speakers to Richer Sounds and they refunded as part of there promise. So over all i'm very happy with Richer Sounds, shame the product wasn't up to scratch. 02 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5?by Simply brilliant These speakers had a hard act to follow. Replacing a pair of Epos ES 14 speakers, a sought-after and highly rated product from the 80s and 90s, they have a similar voicing and qualities, but do everything better. The sense of spacial imagery, resolution of detail and sound stage credibility are superb. The treble is silky smooth, the mids are crisp and uncoloured, and the bass end has plenty of weight and slam on material that contains it. It's worth playing around with positioning within a room to get the best results ? I found that use of the foam plugs in the rear ports enabled a positioning that tamed the slightly overblown bass I get in my listening room, but left everything else at an optimum. Overall, these are simply brilliant speakers that have slotted into my existing system with aplomb. System: Linn LP12, Ittok LVII/Adikt, Naim 42.5/HICAP/110 and Arcam Alpha 7 SE CD player. 03 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5?by Stunning sound & quality build I bought these speakers to replace my ageing Wharfedale stand-mounts. The Bronze 5's delivers a detailed sound & considering it's size, produces a surprisingly deep bass. These speakers exceeded my expectations in all aspects. Monitor Audio have produced a fantastic all round speaker for the price. 25 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5?by Great speakers, great price, great experience Bought these in Dec 2015 to replace my elderly (35yr old) self built Spendor lookalikes. Had great, unhurried advice from the Watford staff, before a very useful and pleasant demo session. Plenty of choice of speaker, and auditioned 2 or 3, before settling on these Monitor Audio Bronze 5's. Can't rate high enough the helpfulness, advice and overall buying experience at the Watford store. Thanks to Chris and Rikki, for your help. One happy listener. Hearing things I didn't know existed in all my music 08 December 2015
Rated 5 out of 5?by Greatly improved the sound of Denon mini system I'd been pondering upgrading my speakers and spoke to the stores helpful staff who recommended these. They then gave me a demo in the listening room and I was convinced. Since my purchase, I've been going through favourite CDs and enjoying hearing bits I'd not heard before. I've really started to appreciate the studio engineers' art. Great sound across the range and I'm told the speakers will improve with use. 24 November 2015
