Evolved for even better performance, the Sony VPL-HW45ES offers the sharpest and most cinematic experience.

SXRD panels with contrast enhancer

This Sony projector uses high frame rate SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) panels, which feature an incredibly rapid response rate. This gives it smooth, fluid motion that's faster and more stable than typical LCD panels, as found in other projectors. Partnering this is Contrast Enhancer. This automatically optimises the contrast level by analysing dark and light sections of the image in every scene.

Improved brightness for vibrant images
With its improved brightness level of 1800 lumen, the VPL-HW45ES is better than ever in lighter environments. A further benefit of the SXRD panel against LCD is improved contrast. By using a superior alignment layer, less light is scattered giving greater levels of black and a better contrast ratio. With an exceptional contrast ratio, this Sony effortlessly produces inky blacks for exceptional depth of image.

Reality creation
Based on technology used in the range-topping VW1000ES model, the Super Resolution upscaler produces fine detail and vivid colour even from lower resolution signals. Ideal when watching off-air broadcasts or when viewing DVDs, with Reality Creation you get closer to 1080p resolution, whatever the source.

Motionflow technology
Unique to Sony is Motionflow technology, which produces smoother-looking motion by creating extra images between the original frames. Showing twice as many pictures per second gives the impression of much more fluid images.

Built-in 3D RF transmitter
With an industry standard 3D RF transmitter built-in, you can enjoy the pleasures of reliable, stable 3D without the need for an external transmitter. Simply purchase Sony's TDG-BT500A glasses and enjoy the immersive quality of 3D on the big screen.

New low latency mode for gaming
A brand new feature for the VPHW45ES is the low latency mode. Designed especially for gamers, this gives the fastest response possible for the most incisive gaming.

Long-lasting lamp and quiet running for ease of ownership
Two issues of projector ownership for many are lamp life and running noise. The Sony VPL-HW45ES does its best to tackle both! With an expected lamp life of approximately 6000 hours, the Sony's bulb is forecast to outlast standard projector bulbs by around 60%, making a huge difference to running costs. Thanks to an advanced cooling system, fan noise is reduced to a whisper quiet 22dB, making the Sony VPL-HW45ES all but inaudible in most environments.

A top flight performer that easily provides a true cinema experience in your home. For the full effect, just add popcorn!
